Conversation with King Uche: "Uche Musashi"
King Uche is a Nigerian artist who currently lives in Miami, Florida, and Los Angeles, California. This allows him to add a touch of originality and originality brought about by the sounds of West African hip-hop and Afrobeat to the music, mixing it with the taste of optimistic life. In California. Today he announces his latest EP “UCHE MUSA”. It deals with real-life events such as the reign of Mansa Musa, the civil war in Nigeria, and the battle of King Uche in the ghetto of Nigeria.
All of this inspired him to his music
It’s what the singer wants to make as a kind of spiritual stimulus for all those who have no motivation and urge: a positive and uplifting message of hip-hop and afrobeat notes. Despite his failure and past, King Uche’s determination is unabated, but rather gives comfort and friendship to those who listen to him!
YMX: Hey, King Uche, how are you doing? Some of our readers may not be familiar with your project, but do you briefly describe yourself?
King Uche: My stage name is King Uche, but my Monica is The Fly German, also known as the Rising African King of Rap. My birth name is Uchechukwu. This is the Igbo language of my home country, which means the heart of God.
YMX: Your current job is the result of a long journey. What was your first attraction to making music?
King Uche: I’ve been making music for almost two years
When I first enjoyed the entertainment, I was focused on the business side.
I am a 100% independent artist
I started learning business games in the music industry. At that time, I created my own label, Sufferings and Offerings Music. After learning business, I jumped into learning the games of writing and rap in the music industry.
After hard work, sweat, and relentless practice, I have developed a system of success for me and my artist. I started this business for the first time after being betrayed by my friends and family because I decided to do everything myself.
My limits are infinite. I have my own label and signed myself as my artist. And now I have two other Nigerian artists, MARTIN SLUV and 99 DRIZZY, who are completely in love with my label.
YMX: If you had the opportunity to choose artists from around the world for collaboration, who would be your first choice?
King Uche: Early from Africa – Awilo Logomba, Flavor of Africa, Psquare, Tekno, Phyno, Davido, WizKid, Skepta, Shatta Wale, Fela, Burna Boy Early from America – Jay Z, Rick Ross, Birdman, Gucci Mane, Lil Wayne, Diddy, Drake, Young Dolph, Kodak Black, Meek Mill
YMX: You recently released UCHEM USA. Please tell us how the project was born.
King Uche: My latest EP, “UCHE MUSA,” is based on several life events. The reign of Mansa Musa (based on the EP), the Nigerian Civil War (which led to the loss of more than a million indigenous “warts”), and the struggle of my own life to be born in a harsh ghetto suffering from poverty. All urged me to be a man with a greater purpose.
YMX: Are you confident in writing music alone or in a team?
King Uche: I write alone because I used to, but I like the criticisms and opinions of others. To make a great sound, you first need peace and tranquility. That’s two important factors for me. In addition to that, you need a relaxing agent. Something that helps calm my mind. Most of the time, I like to drink very fine red wine while making music. Either Whine or Cognac, it’s the mood of the day.
It helps to relax me. And since I live in a place where marijuana is legal, I, of course, burn to get the final transcendental atmosphere. But the main factors are good places, good people, and good energy.
YMX: What do you think about playing in front of the audience again? Are you aware of unexpected changes in your attitude towards gigs?
King Uche: Performance is exciting and sensational. The more performance you have, the more confident you will be.
YMX: Finally, I could feel the end of the pandemic on the horizon. Artistically speaking, what challenges did you present to your last half?
